HGV Class 1 Driver - Bulker

We are seeking a motivated and energetic HGV Class 1 Driver for Bulker work to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating heavy goods vehicles to transport bulk metal scrap between our sites and external locations. Your expertise will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards and compliance with road regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles with a focus on bulk transportation of metal scrap using flatbed or bulker trailers

  • Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each shift to ensure roadworthiness and safety compliance

  • Load and unload efficiently, adhering to proper securing procedures for bulk materials

  • Follow all driving regulations, company policies, and health & safety protocols during transportation activities

  • Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and communication with Transport and Weighbridge teams

  • Report any vehicle issues or incidents promptly to Transport and Maintenance for immediate resolution

Experience

  • Proven experience as a commercial driving professional, specifically with bulker

  • Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) license with a clean driving record

  • Delivery driver experience involving bulk materials is highly desirable

  • Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for secure transportation of heavy loads

​

This role will be based at either our March or King's Lynn site. Flexibility is essential, as the position may require occasional overnight stays and overtime to meet operational requirements during busy periods.

EXPERIENCED PLANT/HGV Fitter

We are seeking an experienced Plant/HGV Fitter to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and assembling a variety of heavy plant machinery and commercial vehicles. Your expertise will ensure our equipment operates safely and efficiently, supporting our ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility and operational excellence.

​

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain, and repair plant machinery and recycling equipment

  • Work on shredders, shears, scrap handlers, hammer mills, generators, and related vehicles and machinery

  • Diagnose faults using technical documents and schematics

  • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records

  • Work efficiently to meet deadlines and operational priorities

  • Follow all health & safety procedures and company guidelines

​

Essential Requirements

  • NVQ/City & Guilds Level 2 minimum

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Plant Fitter

  • Full manual driving licence essential (HGV licence advantageous)

  • Own toolbox and tools required

  • Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills

  • Experience working on heavy plant and recycling equipment preferred

Please note that this is not a workshop-only position. The role requires hands-on maintenance and repair work across our operational sites, often outdoors in all weather conditions. Candidates must be comfortable working in a dirty and physically demanding environment typical of the metal recycling industry.
